Why GetFavours exists
Built as a favour, not a funnel.
GetFavours is founder-run, out of Thunder Bay, Ontario. It exists for one reason: too many local business owners get taken advantage of by people who bank on them not knowing the tech. We built the opposite of that.
The problem we kept seeing
Local business owners are brilliant at their trade. A plumber knows pipes. A shop owner knows their customers. A restaurant family knows their food. What they’re usually notis a marketer, a developer, or a phone-systems expert — and they shouldn’t have to be.
But that gap gets exploited. Agencies talk down to owners, bury them in jargon, lock them into contracts, and charge for things they’ll never use — betting on the fact that the owner won’t know the difference. We watched it happen too many times. It’s the opposite of a favour.
So we made GetFavours the opposite
The name is the whole idea. We treat every owner like a neighbour who asked us for a hand — not a ticket in a queue, not a funnel to squeeze.
